SwiftPay FAQ

Where are card balances and transactions kept?

On the store’s device in the browser database used by SwiftPay. SwiftPay cannot view those records through the licensing service.

Why does a local product need internet access?

Internet access is required to verify the store email and start the seven-day trial, activate a paid license, and periodically refresh digitally signed proof that the license remains valid. The verified email is used to enforce one free trial. These requests contain licensing information only—not card numbers, balances, transactions, users, reports, or backups.

Can it work temporarily without internet?

Yes. A valid signed offline verification permits normal operation through its displayed verification date. Reconnect periodically so SwiftPay can refresh it. If verification expires, new issuance is disabled while balance lookup and redemption remain available for existing cards.

How do I activate or renew?

An Admin opens Settings > License & Renewal. Enter the one-time ACT code after the free trial. For each later year, enter the new one-time REN code supplied by SwiftPay. Both codes are tied to the displayed Install ID and require an internet connection.

What card rules are built in?

Cards are issued once and cannot be reloaded. The issue amount is $5 to $1,000. Funds do not expire. SwiftPay charges no dormancy, inactivity, or service fees. Not redeemable for cash. Every redemption records the selected purpose in the permanent audit trail.

Who decides what the software is used for?

The merchant does. The merchant is responsible for ensuring that every card is authorized, supported by its records, and permitted by applicable law.

Can mistakes be deleted?

No. A Manager or Admin creates an audited reversal. The original and reversal remain in history.

How often should I back up?

At least weekly and before replacing, resetting, updating, or changing the primary device or browser. Keep backups outside the primary device.

Can I use more than one device?

Each installation has separate local data and requires approval under its license. Use one primary operating device per store unless SwiftPay authorizes another installation.

How should the SwiftPay device be secured?

Use a store-controlled operating-system account or kiosk/browser profile. Block guest access, unapproved extensions, developer tools, and unauthorized physical access. SwiftPay signs out after a reload, but local web software cannot prevent a device or browser administrator from inspecting local browser data.
