Help & FAQ

Help & Frequently Asked Questions

Answers to common questions about using SwiftPay.

Getting started

On first launch, an owner/admin account and store profile are created. Staff sign in with the username and password set for them in Settings. Every transaction is recorded under the signed-in user.

How do I issue a gift card?

Go to Issue, scan an existing blank card or generate a new 16-digit number, enter the amount (up to the fixed $1,000 maximum), and confirm. After the transaction is saved, choose Print Card for the premium front/back card or Print Receipt for the transaction receipt.

How do I redeem or check a balance?

Use Redeem to apply a card's balance to a purchase, or Balance to look up a card without changing it. Both let you scan the barcode with the camera or a USB scanner, or type the number.

How does the barcode scanner work?

Tap any Scan button and allow camera access the first time. Hold the card's barcode inside the frame. A USB/handheld scanner also works — just place the cursor in the card field and scan. The scanner works offline.

How do I back up my data? (Important)

All cards, balances, users, and transactions are stored only in this browser on this device. SwiftPay cannot view them remotely. Export a backup at least weekly and before changing, resetting, or replacing the device.

What is the $1,000 limit?

Card balances are capped at a fixed $1,000. The limit cannot be increased in Settings or through backup restoration.

What is the Install ID / activation?

Each installation is licensed to one device. If you reinstall or move to a new device, use the displayed Install ID and call 470-886-0066 for a new activation code.

Can I use this on more than one device?

No. SwiftPay is designed for one primary device/browser per store. Each separate installation has separate data and requires its own license. Data does not synchronize automatically.

System Health

One place for the owner to verify the app, data, backups, license, scanner, printer, and version.

Maintenance

Recommended actions

  • Your card balances and transactions stay in this device browser and are not visible to SwiftPay.
  • The recovery email, Install ID, device licensing credential, app version, and license status contact the licensing service.
  • SwiftPay signs out whenever the page reloads. Staff must enter their password again.
  • Use a store-controlled operating-system account. Block guest access, browser developer tools, unapproved extensions, and unauthorized physical access.
  • Local PWA roles protect ordinary staff workflows; they cannot defeat someone who controls the operating system or browser profile.
  • Use the single refresh icon in the top-right header after every new deployment.
  • Export a backup at least weekly and before changing devices.
  • Run one $5 test issuance and small redemption before using a new printer, phone, or scanner.
  • Private signing keys are never included in this customer build.

The support diagnostic must exclude card numbers, PINs, balances, transactions, users, and backup contents.

This code becomes permanent after the first transaction so transaction IDs remain consistent.

These disclosures are locked and print on customer cards and receipts.

Trial Data Test records only Trial records have no monetary value and become permanently quarantined after paid activation. They cannot be converted into production cards.

This asks the browser to reduce automatic removal of SwiftPay’s local records. It is not encryption and does not replace encrypted backups. It cannot prevent manual deletion, device loss, browser removal, or hardware failure.

  • Cards are issued once and cannot be reloaded.
  • Every newly issued card receives a separate six-digit PIN.
  • Funds do not expire and no inactivity or service fees are charged.
  • Mistakes use an audited reversal—never deletion.
  • Recovery exports require Manager/Owner authentication and create an audit event.
