Help & FAQ

Help & Frequently Asked Questions

Answers to common questions about using SwiftPay.

Getting started

On first launch, an owner/admin account and store profile are created. Staff sign in with the username and password set for them in Settings. Every transaction is recorded under the signed-in user.

How do I issue a gift card?

Go to Issue, scan an existing blank card or generate a new 16-digit number, enter the amount (up to the fixed $1,000 maximum), and confirm. After the transaction is saved, choose Print Card for the premium front/back card or Print Receipt for the transaction receipt.

How do I redeem or check a balance?

Use Redeem to apply a card's balance to a purchase, or Balance to look up a card without changing it. Both let you scan the barcode with the camera or a USB scanner, or type the number.

How does the barcode scanner work?

Tap any Scan button and allow camera access the first time. Hold the card's barcode inside the frame. A USB/handheld scanner also works — just place the cursor in the card field and scan. The scanner works offline.

How do I back up my data? (Important)

All cards, balances, users, and transactions are stored only in this browser on this device. SwiftPay cannot view them remotely. Export a backup at least weekly and before changing, resetting, or replacing the device.

What is the $1,000 limit?

Card balances are capped at a fixed $1,000. The limit cannot be increased in Settings or through backup restoration.

What is the Install ID / activation?

Each installation is licensed to one device. If you reinstall or move to a new device, use the displayed Install ID and call 470-886-0066 for a new activation code.

Can I use this on more than one device?

No. SwiftPay is designed for one primary device/browser per store. Each separate installation has separate data and requires its own license. Data does not synchronize automatically.

System Health

One place for the owner to verify the app, data, backups, license, scanner, printer, and version.

Maintenance

Recommended actions

  • Your card balances and transactions stay in this device browser and are not visible to SwiftPay.
  • The verified trial email, Install ID, device licensing credential, app version, and license/trial status contact the licensing service.
  • SwiftPay signs out whenever the page reloads. Staff must enter their password again.
  • Use a store-controlled OS account or kiosk profile. Block guest access, browser developer tools, unapproved extensions, and unauthorized physical access.
  • Local PWA roles protect ordinary staff workflows; they cannot defeat someone who controls the operating system or browser profile.
  • Use the single refresh icon in the top-right header after every new deployment.
  • Export a backup at least weekly and before changing devices.
  • Run one $5 test issuance and small redemption before using a new printer, phone, or scanner.
  • Private signing keys are never included in this customer build.
Administration

Settings

Store details, users, backups, security, and licensing in one organized place.

Store Profile

Shown in SwiftPay and on customer cards and receipts.

Customers will use this store phone number for balance and redemption questions. SwiftPay Support is not printed on customer cards.

No logo

PNG, JPG or WebP. SwiftPay creates print and Pocket Card versions on this device.

This code becomes permanent after the first transaction so transaction IDs remain consistent.

These required disclosures are locked and print on customer cards and receipts.

Users & Permissions

Use role-based account names. Avoid personal names when preferred.

Required for a new user.

Encrypted Backup & Restore

Keep a password-protected copy of this store’s data.

Last verified backup: Never

New backups can be unlocked with the backup password or the one-time Recovery Kit shown after saving. Existing password-only backups remain supported. Restore validates the complete ledger before replacing records.

Advanced: erase this device
Erase all SwiftPay data

This permanently clears cards, users, and transactions from this device.

Security Center

Protections enforced by this installation.

  • Every newly issued card receives a six-digit PIN.
  • Five incorrect PIN attempts temporarily lock redemption.
  • Backups use AES-GCM encryption and ledger validation.
  • Recovery exports require Manager/Admin access, password confirmation, and create an audit event.
  • SwiftPay does not preserve a login session after reload.
  • The store must restrict OS/browser administration and physical device access.
  • Cards are issued once and cannot be reloaded.
  • Funds do not expire and no inactivity or service fees are charged.
  • Mistakes are corrected by audited reversal, never deletion.

License & Renewal

Activate a paid yearly plan or apply the next yearly renewal.

Enter the one-time code supplied by SwiftPay. Existing card balances remain available if licensing is temporarily unavailable.

Version & Update

One safe update control keeps SwiftPay current without deleting store data.

Current version: Checking version…. Use the refresh icon in the top-right header after a deployment or when a device looks stuck on an older screen. Cards, transactions, users, licensing, and backups remain untouched.
